HIT SONGWRITER MENTOR PROGRAM

The Hit Songwriter Mentoring Program is a songwriting program like no other! As a songwriter still learning the craft, the biz and everything else that comes with “making it” in Nashville there are many options for songwriters. You can pack everything up, move here and pound pavement every single day for your one shot. You can go to endless seminars where writers and publishers lecture and “explain” how to write a hit song. You can read books, take a class, etc. But what if there was a different way?

What if you could spend an entire day with one of Nashville’s biggest and most successful hit songwriters, dive into “their” world, and approach the learning experience from a completely hands on approach? If you wanted to be a carpenter, you wouldn’t go to a lecture and have someone tell you how to build something, you’d apprentice and learn your craft “hands on”. If you wanted to be a football star you wouldn’t just walk on to the field of the super bowl and say “put me in coach” after attending a seminar on how to play, right?

Well, the same rule applies here. Please know that THIS IS NOT PAYING FOR A CO-WRITE! Although you will be co-writing with the hit songwriter, this is about taking your songwriting to the next level by utilizing a TRUE hands on approach to learning the amazing craft of songwriting. You wanna write hit songs? Learn from the best!

Here’s how the program works:
You will be spending an ENTIRE DAY with the hit songwriter of your choice. This can be done IN PERSON (which we strongly suggest) or ONLINE. Here is what the day will consist of:

1. You will spend some time getting to know the hit songwriter. It’s important to develop a REAL relationship with them so that you can use this program as a springboard into their camp. You WANT them to wanna hang out with you again outside of this program.

2. They will listen to some of your songs and let you know what they think of the writing, how they would have written it, etc.

3. They will take you out to lunch and introduce you around to their contacts.

4. You will be co-writing with them.

5. You will be asking any industry questions, etc that you have and learning the business side of the business from the songwriter perspective.

6. You are going to have a BLAST! Please know that THIS IS NOT PAYING FOR A COWRITE! Although you will be co-writing with the hit songwriter, this is about taking your songwriting to the next level by utilizing a TRUE hands on approach to learning the amazing craft of songwriting.

We will be rotating our list of hit songwriters every other month, so if there is a writer on the list that you are interested in mentoring with, don’t hesitate to sign up for the writer you want and we can schedule your mentoring day at a later date. We will be adding more writers to the list every week.

THE FINE PRINT:  You MUST apply and be approved to participate in this program. Although we know that every songwriter would LOVE to be mentored by a hit songwriter, we want to make sure that those writers participating in the program are already writing on a level where a mentoring day with a hit songwriter would be most beneficial. We are being extremely selective during the application process so if you are not approved, please know that it does not mean you aren’t a good writer and you CAN apply more than once.

If you have been approved, we will start coordinating the mentor day between you and your hit songwriter. Please remember that these hit songwriters write everyday with artists and other hit songwriters so you will need to be a little flexible with the dates for which you want to schedule your mentorship. As the hit songwriter will need to clear his or her schedule completely for the day to accommodate you. We hope you take advantage of this incredible opportunity and good luck in applying!!!
